Here's a little stand-up success story that shows how qualified we are for various opportunities. I go to Temple University and have been performing stand-up for almost seven years now. Last semester, as president of TUComedy, I went to a Temple Film Collective meeting to meet someone with access to a camera who would film a stand-up show we were organizing. It ended up being the pitch meeting for their year of films. I did an old joke and it was voted one of the two films to be apart of the TFC film festival on January 31, 2012 without even having a script. Three months later I've written, directed and starred in my first short film. I had an unbelievable amount of help from students/actors in TFC, TUComedy, Temple SMASH (TU's live televised sketch show), Insomnia Theater (stage performance club) as well as local Philadelphia comedians Doogie Horner (America's Got Talent), Alex Pearlman and Joey Dougherty. Here is the trailer and the film itself will go online after the festival. What does anyone think?
