Hi, introducing myself to the forum.  Mandy Dalton.  I write comedy.  I don't do stand-up but I have been a comic actress, improver, comedy writer for 30 years.  I founded a group in DC along with Wayne Manigo called the Washington DC Comedy Writers Group.  We support people who write comedy in every form from stand-up to sketch, from videos to blogs, from assholes to clowns. It's the most unsafe "safe" place to kick the tires on your jokes.

Many of the comics in our area are finding that it's no longer enough to "just" be a club comic, or "just" work corporate gigs.  With Youtube, Facebook, twitter and the others you need to do a little bit of everything.  The more open you are to videos, blogging, sketch and other types of shows, the more likely you are to be able to make a living.
